Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions!
Q: Can I install Back Talk on my SD Card?
This option became available to developers with the Android version 2.2. If you have this version (or greater), Back Talk utilizes SD install automatically. To move the application to the SD card manually, do this on your device:
  • 1. Touch Menu, then Settings
  • 2. Touch Applications
  • 3. Touch Manage Applications
  • 4. Scroll and touch the Back Talk application
  • 5. Touch Move to SD card
Q: Why don't I get a response from a Market Bug Report/Rating?
Google does not offer us developers the ability to provide feedback on any problems or questions left in ratings comments. If you have a problem or a question, please email us! We can only fix the bugs we know about. When you send us an email, please include a full description of the problem along with the make/model of your device, firmware version, kernel version, build number, SD card, Application, & phone storage available space (see menu/settings/about phone and the menu/settings/SD card and phone storage to get this information).

Q: I purchased the app, but I can't download it.
The Android market is run entirely by Google and we have no way to assist you with this...sorry! Download problems are usually due to a connection problem or a problem with your payment. To resolve many connection problems, try rebooting your phone. Also try to cancel the download, then start the download again. If the problem is with your payment, Google will have sent you an email message with instructions. Remember to check your SPAM/BULK/JUNK mail folder also! For help on Google checkout, Contact Google.
Q: The app appears to download, but doesn't install.
Back Talk installs directly to your SD card (if available), and we have seen that a problem with the SD card itself is most likely the cause:
  • 1. Reboot the phone and try the download again.
  • 2. Go into Menu/Settings/Application/Manage Applications, select the Market application and Clear the Cache, and then try the download again (You may have to press Menu > Filter > All to see the Market application).
  • 3. Back out of the screen and select Download Manager then select Clear Data.
  • 4. Also Clear Data for Google Apps, Google Talk, and Checkin Service. Some users are reporting they had to Clear Data for the Browser app as well.
  • 5. During the download, long press the progress bar and cancel, then try purchasing/download the Back Talk application again.
  • 6. Remove the SD card and reinstall, allow the card to finish scanning/loading, then try downloading/installing Back Talk again.
  • 7. Go into Menu/Settings/SD and phone storage. Unmount SD card. Goto market and install the app, remount the SD card, then go into Menu/Settings/Application/Manage Applications and move the Back Talk application to the SD Card.
  • 8. Note that sometimes Google works on the Market causing NO ONE to be able to finish installing Apps! This could be the issue tonight, so try it again in the morning.
  • 9. Put the phone's SD card in an adapter, put in your computer, right-click on the drive letter with the SD card and choose Properties, goto to the Tools section, and under the Error Checking say Check Now. (basically, you'll want to run a "Chkdsk" on the card). It's likely one or more errors will be fixed for you.
Q: I'm having trouble installing the application.
Go under Menu, then Settings, and select the SD card and phone storage. Look at the Available Space under the Phone Storage section. You need at least twice as much available phone storage space as the total application size to install. To free up some space on your device, do this:
  • 1. Touch Menu, then Settings
  • 2. Touch Applications
  • 3. Touch Manage Applications
  • 4. Uninstall any applications you are no longer using
  • 5. Select each item and if available, move the application to your SD card
  • 6. Select each item and touch Clear Data and/or the Clear Cache option
  • 7. Go through each/every application you have installed until enough space is available to install the new application
You may also try This Tip. For stuck downloads, try clearing Market Data cache and Market Updater cache. Menu > Settings > Applications > filter all > then click both programs and clear the data. If all else fails, please Contact Google.
Q: The application keeps force closing. What do I do?
it is possible that your device is not compatible as Back Talk utilizes many of the Android's high-end features. Before submitting a bug report, try this:
  • 1. Reinstall the application
  • 2. Disable any installed Task Killer/Managers
  • 3. Make sure your device is connected to the Internet or on Wi-Fi
  • 4. Turn the device off, remove the battery for 30 seconds, reinstall the battery, and then turn the device back on
  • 5. As a last resort, do a factory reset of your device
Q: The graphics/animations run slow on my device.
For a quick startup, Back Talk launches before all the animations are fully cached. Continue using Back Talk for a bit, and the animations should speed up. Also try rebooting your phone to see if that helps. You can also try killing/stopping other background processes that may be running, as often these processes can substantially slow down your device. Full screen 3D animation is also very intensive for a device without adequate processing power. If the amimations continue to run slugglishly, it's possible that your device's processor is not fast enough to perform 3D animations.
